It was a story that hangs around in the ether and people recognize but don't actually know. It is a true story. It is an endearing story. This is the story that inspired Macy's long running Believe campaign.
In 2009, what started as a 2 minute silent animation project destined for obscurity on the internet, turned into a 30 minute CBS Christmas special. Starring Neil Patrick Harris, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Alfred Molina, "Yes Virginia" earned excellent reviews from top critics such as The New York Times, Variety, Entertainment Weekly and millions of children across America.
"Yes Virginia" was so well received it has aired every December since 2009. With the building success of the show Macy's and JWT built "Yes Virginia" into it's own entertainment property spawning a DVD, a book, a Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, an app using AR technology, dolls, and is consistently one of the top downloads at Christmas time.
